This is the sample exam for Certification of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Professionals (GDTP) ASME 14.5 technologist level. I myself prepared all the questions after passing this exam based on the ASME Y14.5.2. The questions was prepared to simulate the real exam as best as possible. Test include question from nine chapters in proportions same as real exam:
(1) 10% on scope, definitions, and general dimensioning
(2) 10% on general tolerancing and related principles
(3) 5% on symbology
(4) 20% on datum reference frames
(5) 5% on tolerances of form
(6) 5% on tolerances of orientation
(7) 25% on tolerances of location
(8) 15% on tolerances of profile
(9) 5% on tolerances of runout
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers offers two levels of certification for GD&T. The first level is technologist level and the second senior level. This is a mock test for technologist level. The both levels have two variants of exam, the first based on standard ASME Y14.5M – 1994 and second based on ASME Y14.5 – 2009. The person being examined has a maximum of four hours for an exam on this level. The test includes 150 closed question, to pass exam candidate must achieve at least 78% grade overall nad 50% in each of above categories
