After many years as a CIO myself, I decided to make the transition to consulting and I haven’t looked back! As a consultant, you aren’t subject to the whims (or politics) of any one company or boss in order to continue and expand your career – you are in charge of your own career! And, management consulting can allow you to leverage your experience and expertise across new industries. In fact, the variety and diversity of consulting engagements will almost always exceed what you would see in a typical corporate career. Consulting can also offer more flexible work arrangements than a full-time job. And, whatever role or project a consultant undertakes, they can expect to be well-compensated for their experience and expertise!
