Someone with a head for business, through either studying business in a university or home-study (such as this 10 plus hour comprehensive online business course), and a good idea, can dispel the old saying that it takes money to make money. When it comes to creating a successful business, education is the great equalizer. This streamlined course offers chapters in entrepreneurship, strategic management, insurance, business finance, dispute resolution, sales and marketing, human resources, and accounting principles. These are all important aspects of initiating a successful business.
Entrepreneurship teaches you to think like an entrepreneur, and it is also designed to expand your business acumen so that you become knowledgeable in business terminology and accepted business practices.
In the strategic management chapter we will be examining different types of management styles. There are many different management styles, You will learn to custom structure the management team that will become the driving force and an integral part of the business.
You’re going to want to know as much as possible about business insurance. While it may be expensive and you may never need it, it provides a plan B in the event of some catastrophe. You really need a working knowledge of the insurance industry.
In the business finance chapter you will learn about angel investors and hedge fund managers. The SBA may even be a source for new or existing business finance. You will learn that there are a number of other finance sources available, if one knows where to look.
You will also learn about dispute resolution. All too often in business, disputes arise between sellers and buyers. Dispute resolution skills can help to maintain business relations through mutual negotiation.
Sales and marketing is another important discipline you will be learning about. You can have the greatest product or service in the world, but if nobody is aware you exist, the worst product, that uses sales and marketing techniques, can outpace your great product. Sales is one of the most important aspects of a successful business and sales staff need to be effective in order for a business to be successful.
You will also be learning about human resources. When I started business college at the University of San Francisco where I studied behavioral organization and human relations, the term human resources was just catching on. HR departments are tasked with employee recruitment, training, employer/employee relations, payroll and much more.
In addition to the above subjects, you will also learn about the different types of accounting and their different purposes.
