Conducting an Operational diagnostic for industrial clients

Overview

Operation Transformations are designed to boost your organisation’s performance by increasing revenue, lowering operating costs, improving quality, and enhancing workforce productivity. This course is one of a nine-module Operations Transformation Program: Conducting an Operational Diagnostic.

All successful Transformations start with a comprehensive diagnostic, also called an operational deep dive. The objective of the transformation is to:

1) Determine the size of the prize i.e. what is the full potential value in $ that can be realised

2) Understand the key enablers that are required to both generate and sustain the results e.g. organisational culture and capabilities

3) Co-generate the set of improvement initiatives and roadmap with the client so there’s full buy-in from the key stakeholders

4) Understand the investment required by the organisation to make the Transformation a success e.g. resourcing and timing

Diagnostics tend to be some of the most intense phases of any Transformation, considering you tend to have approximately three weeks to do the work and have the client fully endorse it. What this course is trying to do is to:

1) De-mystify the diagnostic process

2) Provide you with an end-to-end process that’s been tried and tested

3) Show you actual tools, frameworks, and templates that will save you a lot of time

4) Bring it all together and show you what the Transformation roadmaps look like

The course covers the following areas:

• Diagnostic objectives and key design principles

• The overall ‘recipe’ for a successful diagnostic

• How to conduct a Technical diagnostic (size of the prize $$)

• How to conduct the Key Enablers diagnostic (sustainability elements)

• Putting it all together and building the roadmap
